Dottie Brown runs Brown Environmental which specializes in bat surveys and other terrestrial species. She has extensive experience in wildlife and natural resources and has worked with wildlife throughout the United States and in Africa, Mexico, and Central America. Dottie has more than 35 years of experience including more than 14 years of experience working extensively with bats on focused research projects and projects for clients in coordination with state agencies and the U.S. Fish Wildlife Service (USFWS) under Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act. Dottie has conducted hundreds of absence/presence surveys for federally and state listed species throughout the eastern US. for both the government and private sector She has specific experience and training in survey techniques including, but not limited to bat acoustics and mist netting, disease monitoring and management, tiered cave surveys, and trapping and tracking. Dottie currently holds a federal USFWS Section 10 permit (TE94704A-3) for multiple federally listed bats, as well as for bog turtles (Glyptemys muhlenbergii), and northern flying squirrels (Glaucomys sabrinus coloratus).
